I am tired of stupid people.
They're all over they internet. I think someone's taught them how to breed.

First off, I am so bored of people whining about how much Deviantart sucks on their journals. It's pretty much the anti Christ. And yet, as horrible as it is, they never leave.

Also, just what is it about the manga/anime style people hate so much? Because it's generic and easy? Well, if you took the time to look you'd see that the style is pretty diverse and, as for easy; if the people making these accusations would take the time to try and create something worthwhile they'd see it wasn't quite that simple.

Sure there is a lot of generic stuff, and there is a lot of it that's done poorly but I think you'll find that with any style - how many people draw Disney type images, how many people render realistic pencil portraits, how many people have Sonic characters that look like they're straight from the series? There is some that's amazing, some that's good and some that's not. Whether or not the latter outweighs the others does it matter? What harm does it do to anyone if people want to do this? They do it because they enjoy it, or they're paid to do it.

If it's an issue with popularity - they're not popular because of what they do, they're popular because they're good at it. I know there are a ton of people who deserve way more attention than they get, but if you've got a problem with it suggest them for DDs or promote them in your journals or newsletters. Note them to your friends. Or if you feel that way about your own work then promote yourself; comment and ask people to look at your stuff, the worst they can do is say no.

Another thing - what is it that gives people this idea that digital art is easy? It's just another tool - it doesn't immediately make you a better artist, there's no shortcut to do that. Photoshop is just as difficult as oil paints if you want to do it well. Saying things like "Well, that's done on the computer, I'd be able to do that if I had a tablet..." is just an excuse. If you don't have something make the best of what you do have, master pencil crayons or biros if you have nothing else.

I'm sorry for ranting. I'm just so sick and tired of people belittling a style I'm so fond of and enjoy making and observing. I've read it all over the internet and been told it to my face, it's frustrating and tiresome.
It's just my opinion, feel free to disagree with me, I don't mind :V



On a lighter note, I just got back from London. I'm tired and my legs hurt, but it was fun
